Can anyone help please, I logon to the internet ok, start explorer ok, but my home page keeps going to "http://296f8.ilxt.info/index.php?aid=20009" even though I change it back in the Tools/Internet Options/Homepage
Thats not the main problem, most web-sites I try and visit I get to the opening page and I'm then quickly taken back to the "http://296f8.ilxt.info/index.php?aid=20009" page.....
It dosent happen all the time just certain sites, I could get onto this one moneysavingexpert ok but things like hotmail no good.
It's driving me mad....thanks for you help

Download and install and update; http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
Once you have done this, run a scan. Once the scan is finished, click fix all problems.
Once you have done this, click on 'mode' on the main interface and make sure 'Advanced' is ticked.
From there, click on tools and then 'Browser Pages'. Once there, you will see a reference to your 'hijacker'(if it hasn't already been eliminated by the initial scan). If there, click on it and then click on 'change' above. This will give you the option to select from a drop down list. Choose whichever one you would like to display when you open Explorer. ie: about:blank

I've had a similar hijack on my pc recently. I removed it using the CWS shreader. Do a search for this and download it. It removes all references to the CoolWebsiteSearch hijacker. Cant guarentee that yours is this hijacker but its worth a try0
