Pixmania confusion

Hi ,not sure where to put this but here goes,
My OH purchased a laptop from Pixmania in Dec 2009,paying by Credit Card.A day later he got a call from Capital One to check he had made the purchase. All ok so far and laptop duly arrived.
Forward on to the end of January. He received a call from Capital One saying that they had another transaction from Pixmania. It was all a bit worrying but it eventually transpired that Pixmania had not been paid for the original transaction and had tried again.OH gave go ahead for them to be paid, asking for reassurance it would not be paid twice.
Fast forward to yesterday,OH gets a poorly worded email from Pixmania saying pay us now ,here are the account details. No amount or item description etc.
The original purchase was to be funded by credit card and this is still the case. They are asking for payment by cheque or bank transfer. OH replied using an email address we found on here for Pixmania (incase of scam) and got a reply again asking for payment by cheque or transfer.
Can they make us pay another method?
Is there a way to pay Pixmania by credit card post purchase? I suppose phone?
Can anyone explain what may have happened?

Can't offer any advice, but my MIL bought a TV from PixMania nearly a year ago, and was never charged for it.marlasinger0

I was going to order from Pixmania a few years ago now, but very grateful that I didn't go ahead as it is difficult to find a good review about them.

Hope you manage to sort this out.0 -
It is your responsibility to pay Pixmania, hence why they chase you for the funds if they were not able to obtain payment. Yes, they can request alternate means.
However, as you have authorised Capital One (twice) to pay them, the problem appears to be between Pixmania, their card processing system and Capital One.
I would call Capital One to make sure there is not a problem and then invite Pixmania to take the issue up with their card processor, to allow them to take the payment successfully.0 -
Hello,
I have just seen your message regarding the payment of your order.
We would be happy to help and provide several payment options.
Please contact me directly on mediator_uk@pixmania.com

Re Pixmania
Ive just had a wee bit of a problem with this company as well, ordered a Toshiba laptop for my daughters birthday, duly paid by credit card and it arrived today, the laptop advertised on the pixmania site clearly shows a web cam it clearly says in their literature theres a web cam-not on this one it dont!
After quite a lengthy call to customer services who were to be frank unhelpful, the only option available was to return the laptop and id be refunded....eventually.
No explanation no alternative product offered-nada
I asked to speak to the customer service manager, left my contact details and Im still waiting, ive emailed them and await to see if there is a reply.
Happy Birthday to you dear daughter NOT thanks to pixmania,
