Holiday at Radisson Blu Malta

Hi all
I received a phone call and have been offered a one week holiday for a covering charge of 227.50 to stay for a week, for 5 people. Just hotel stay: for the publicity and to pass it on by word of mouth.
Can anyone advise, is this genuine or just a scam.
Sounds too good to be true.
BTW. Hotel is 5 star and looks fab
Any advise would be welcome.

  • Hi we did that holiday 2 years ago is time-share will have to have half day being shown around and sales pitch stick to your guns, if you go . hotel excellent 5 star its room only , food in hotel very good can be expensive we eat out most nights just outside hotel very cheap but good food weather fantastic, we found after sales pitch we said no they tend to go cold towards you, but leave you alone for the rest of the trip, we had great time Malta is lovely . get lots of info re Malta before you go , do go out on the buses on trips . another tip we ordered breakfast in the mornings in our room and shared between 2 adults ans 2 children was plenty .also do use the facility's in the hotel nothing stops you, just do not buy time-share..
  • and yes Radisson on Malta is a time share complex .
  • Thanks for your replies, the sales pitch did mention a tour of some kind.
I think I might just take up the offer.

OH and I have just returned from a promotional holiday at Radisson Blu, Malta. Very tempted by the timeshare opportunity especially as they made it really affordable (£120 per month) even though we were initially declined by the Barclays finance they use - instead they put us with their own finance scheme :o. Not sure why, but I still have a niggly feeling about it all - we met some people whilst there who had previously bought into it and were very positive. Is it because these "opportunities" get such bad press? Or am I justified in being cautious? we stil have a few days left of the cooling off period and we haven't parted with any money yet.

    Personally, I would cancel it.

£1500 per year to pay for how many years for a week's accommodation only?? Might be OK if it was only for 1 year!!

What happens if flight prices to Malta become really expensive when you want to go?

    'Malta AGAIN this year dear....'

    No thankyou.

When you look at it that way, it does seem a tad over the top.

The scheme allows you to book holidays in other places through Interval Interantional as well as "Getaways" throughout the year - so its not necessary to keep returning to Malta (although it is very lovely)

The so called lease runs for 35 years and in the event of our death can be bequeathed to the children.

Thank you for your replies/comments so far.
  • Hi we did the Radisson free holiday 2 years ago at the golden sands resort loverly 5 star hotel , room only food in hotel is expensive , but we eat out much cheaper, i would go ahead with it, you will have to go to a meeting come tour where they try to sell you a timeshare week, we said no to the timeshare after the tour , they do leave you alone after that , just asked to visit the office at the end of week to sigh a form about the tour i.e was the saleman pushy where you put under pressure, they try a last attempt, would you like a trial membership, again just say no. We had a great week really hot sunny loverly beach, go for it Greg
