RDPR Cheque banking code

Does anyone know please what the code of practice is for how many times a cheque payable to yourself can keep being represented by the debtors bank before it gets returned back? It has happened to me seven times for the same cheque in the last month.

WHen I worked for a bank the normal practice was to "bounce" twice RDPR and then RD for the third time. It seems odd that a bank would pass it seven times. I would contact the person who gave you the cheque & ask them to stop it and pay you through another method. It must be costing them a fortune!!
Thanks to all who post comps :A :T
  • It may have been the bank did bounce it RD and the payee kept on trying it again and again in the hope it got paid.
