Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0

DFD: Not thought about this before, so thanks for the inspiration. If I carry off paying my loan at current instalments, Nov 2010. If I pay another £200 a month, which I can scrape together with a bit of self-discipline, April 2009.
If I then carry on making the same repayments into a savings account for the 18 months I would have been paying the loan off, I'll come out with a useful £8100 before interest. So well worth making the effort!mjh1977 Highest debt -18.5k (Dec 04) Current debt now below £10k for the first time in 4 years :j0

Debt of around 4k, 2k to CC 0% until Feb 07 and 2k to student loan company. Hope to have the 2k paid off to the CC by the time the 0% runs out. Maybe I should, but I don't view the SLC as debt as such, I'll jut pay the minimum each month until it's paid. No real idea when that will be though.0
