    Approx £9,600 but ask the SLC cos I don't know!!

    Dfd - a very long time :rotfl: but thankfully student loan is the 'best' kind of debt I guess, totally manageable. Not nearly as bad as many on here, thankfully, must count my blessings :)

    If you want to get a debt free date, put details of all your debts, aprs, repayments etc into this calculator. It'll tell you the best order to pay off your debts and when you can be debt free :T

    Approx £840 (although owe about £16/£17k to SLC)

    Last payment on managed loan in August, last payment on car on 1/10/06.
    Therefore my SEMI-DFD is Oct 06. Not worrying about student loan - doing a MA in september - can't do anything about it then anyway!

    PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTS :D
  • Hey,

    I'm 26

    1. My credit card debt is £1,168.75 which I'm hoping to have paid off by Christmas. We also have a small overdraft on our joint account of £100 and OH has an overdraft of £250 - I'd like to have these paid off by Christmas too.

    2. I have a loan of £14,000 which we started paying off a year ago and has another 5 years to go, but that's joint so I don't know how to count it.

    3. My student loan is approx £8,000 and I'm paying £40 a month off my salary - but its probably not paying off that much when you add the interest.

    4. We also have a mortgage of £135,000 which has just over 29 years to go - part of which was an unsecured loan (I think about £20/£25k)

    My plan is to pay off no. 1 by Christmas, nos 2 & 3 over next 2/3 years then look at reducing mortgage/unsecured loan gradually so I don't really have a DFD as its so complicated. We'd like to get married and have a family within the next couple of years so will probably do this towards end of stages 2 & 3. So DFD probably won't be for a long, long time but would like a big family so don't want to leave it too long - also think I might have fertility problems due to family medical history.

    However, things always change - that's the plan at the moment!

    Phew! Lots of detail, I know - but felt very good to write that down!

    scottishspendaholic x
    MBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)
    Tesco = £2,910.11 / Smile overdraft = £500
    Bank of Scotland = £2,782.83
