e reader sony prs300 or elonex 511eb ?????

im getting a ereader for valentines day :D

and cant decide between the sony prs300 or the elonex 511eb (the one from waterstones)

WHsmiths are selling the sony one for £139 including delievery which is a fantastic deal, the elenex one from waterstones online is £129.99 but with a free £10 gift card and a spare SD card (think it was 4GB.)

Ive looked at and fiddled with both, and the sony one is a much better build quality, but you cannot increase the storage on it, also it does not come with a mains adapter for charging (and plugging things in with a USB really annoys me and takes far from longer from what ive read.)

So dont know which one to go for. Would anyone who has either please leave me their opinions.

Also has anyone seen anywhere selling the Sony model at near this price in an actual shop (as if i order it online im never here to sign for it and HAS to be sent to billing address.) they were £149.99 in PC world but are now £179.99.

Thank you

i have the sony the sony prs 600 mine stores up to 350 books but i have a memory card which will allow lots more ( its the bigger version of the one that you want

i bought it at xmas mainly for when i travel i took it with me to thailand recently no probs i could charge it quickly on my laptop ( which i took with me - but im going to buy a plug for it
battery time is fine to be honest not probs with it
its a bit fiddly working out how to transfer the ebooks to your e reader but once you do that its quite easy to do
  • I have a PRS 505 and it has been very reliable , if you want an alternative to the bundled software for the library function/transfer i can recommend Callibre

Thank you for all the help. Wasnt sure with delievery if the fact that the whsmiths website states "will only be sent to bill payers address" whether i would be able to pick it up, from post office etc if i am out when its delievered. As there is more often than not, no one in during the day.

Have actually found the sony one in tescos (the shop itself not online) for £149.99 so may just pay the £10.00 extra rather than the confusion as to whether ill actually be in to sign for it.
