Is battery on iPod covered by guarantee?

Is battery on iPod covered by 12 month guarantee? Had it for about 9 months (from Comet), and the battery only holds charge for around 3 hrs. Would this be covered? Do i go to Comet or Apple?

well its holding a charge just not as much as you would like i think will be the agruement you might get there. i would check there website too find out in the first instance and by that i mean apple because comet will only use that as there basis as well.

Generally batteries are excluded fro the guarantee, although since the iPod battery is not user replaceable it's a bit cheeky to do that. Have a look in the small print of the guarantee and see what it says.

Remember the the guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights under the Sales of Goods Act, and that your contract is with the retailer.
  • In this case it should be covered by the guarantee

I would suggest that under the sales of goods act, an Ipod is meant to last slightly longer than 9 Months, the fact that it is still working is not the issue,

It is not fit for use, and i think that is where your argument stands up.
So in the first instance go back to Comet with your receipt and speak with them
