Step-daughter needs a debit card?

My 19 year old step daughter has recently moved to a new flat by us. She has no credit at all just a nationwide cashpoint card with her bank account. She has just . started her new job and is on the electoral roll. She wants a debit card. Nationwide refused her a current account due to no credit history so she applied unbeknown to us for 2 credit cards and a coop bank account and all got refused. The trouble is weve taken a mobile contract out for her which shes paying us for,but obviously I don't want to be having all of her credit on our file. Any advice on how to get her a basic bank account and who is likely to help. All she needs is a solo/ electron, no overdraft or cheque facility that will improve her credit rating.
Thanks

This means the contract is in your or her father's name (I assume), thus it is not linked with your step-daughters credit history. So there's no need to worry about an adverse effect on your history (obviously make sure it's always paid on time).

Basic bank accounts don't require the same checks as a current account. Some examples are:-
    Halifax Easycash
    Lloyds TSB Cash Account

Have a wee read at the below PDF, which gives information on basic bank accounts, and a great comparison of all basic bank accounts available (Pg. 6 & 7):-

Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.

Barclays Cash Card Accout, Natwest Step Account, and RBS Key Account are the best accounts of the ones on the website mentioned above.

Barclays can give you the account details on the same day. Everything else will arrive within a week. Only one ID is needed (passport or driving licence).
