Have vauxhall vectra 2 1/2 years old. Just been told by garage that the springs and shockers have gone. Springs may be under warranty. Would the shockers have gone because of the springs or springs gone because of the shockers?

Is there any way of knowing which went first.

ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. WORK STARTS TOMORROW

Thanks

springs could have broken just going over those stupid speed humps like mine did, i would be surprised if they were covered under warranty. I think they are about £40 each, they could have went long before the shocks. I think your just unlucky like me, my springs went last year and im just sorting them out now for the mot

Need to know front back or all, to you run permanantly loaded or have you overloaded the car, tow a caravan
Shock absorbers are classed generally as servicable wear and tear items, but certainly worth having a bash at the Vauxhall customer care line which should be in the handbook or the dealer will know. Do this before the parts are changed as you won't stand much of a chance afterwards. Tell them if you have had more than one Vauxhall and if you are thinking of replacing this car later on with a Vauxhall lay the sob sob story on thick usually works.

    Hello caraboo

I'll move your thread over to the 'Motoring & Public Transport' board, where it should get more views and responses.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
