Calling Jersey from the UK

Does anyone know if it's counted as a UK call to call Jersey (ie with 1899 0p per minute)?

I know some providers exclude the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man from their '01/02' calls packages but call1899.co.uk does not list the 'Channel Islands', Guernsey, Jersey or the Isle of Man in their 'foreign countries' table of call charges.

I therefore assume 3p connection and 0p/minute applies (from a BT line).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

1899 was free for me there, at least a couple of months ago.

I live in Jersey, its great it is here!

Anyway back to the question. A few mobile phone providers (Orange for example) include channel island LANDLINES as UK landline and therefore within inclusive minutes.

Oh, do peopel know if o2 do the same in this respect?

    Thanks

You lucky thing! My daughter's just gone out there to stay with someone she met at Uni - I'm so jealous. I went there as a child (a long time ago!) and I still remember it being beautiful. Well, maybe I'll get an invite out there soon. Thanks for the other replies.

No the 1899 code only works from a BT line, and the 0808 and 020 access codes only work from a registered Uk Landline,Cable Line, or Uk Mobile.

I think with Jersey landlines 0800/0808/0500 calls are free.

Yes they are see http://www.jerseytelecom.com/templates/LayoutB.aspx?id=237 but to use the free phone access number you must be using a line regd with 1899.
I seem to recall that 1899 etc did not allow you to register 01534 numbers but it might have changed.

If it now works these rates would apply.
