Save money on U.S. Villa rentals.

I am going to Florida in Nov of this year and I've booked 2 x villas to stay in whilst I'm there.
Usually they are priced as $xxx's per week plus cleaning charge of $xx's
+ Florida sales tax of between 9% & 12%. However, I have found that if you are hiring from a Brit, that you are a Brit, the transaction is NOT done through the website and that the transaction does not hit a USA bank, and that you pay in £'s then the Florida Sales tax need not be applied.
Here is an example of what I mean. All of the Villas seem to be adverstised in the sameway and as an example If you click on this link you will see how the rental charges add up, All of the rental sites steer you towards contacting the owner, and then you have the opportunity to ask if they are British / based in Britain and if Florida Sales Tax is applicable to you as a Brit.
AFAIK, it is similar to VAT being reclaimable by foreign tourists in Britain.
In my case it has saved me quite a packet.:j
