Hi, not sure if anybody can help me on this one. I have a humax PVR which is about 3 years old. Recently it seems to be doing odd things with recordings, it seems to be moving the names around and creating duplicates in the listing - so I did have a recording of the Italian Job on the PVR but then it appeared twice... when you go into it, it was a recording of silent witness... well 2 recordings of Silent Witness actually !! and no sign of the Italian Job.... this has only happened over the past week or so, and no idea what has happened of it is symptomatic of another problem - any thoughts on what might be the cause, and how to fix ??

Not sure myself, I use these forums for Humax PVR problems, one of the experienced members will sort you out if you post your question on there:-

May be a good idea to register, those forums may be handy as your machine gets older. You might get away with just a doing a Reset. Good luck.0 -

Think of your Hummy as a computer hard drive not a PVR, you have at some point ' cross linked files ' on your HDD recording
It's possible that you can continue to use the box and it's existing recordings [ including making new recordings ] provided you never try to use or even try to delete the three cross linked files you name above.
It's very probable however that you will at some point need to do an inevitable re-format of the HDD to clean up the indexing system.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. Carry out a reset (takes the PVR to the out of the box state) this does not delete any of your recordings but will sort out any software glitches. Configure the preferences as before to suit your TV and if you want it to carry out a software upgrade check (waste of time on mine PVR9200T not been any for years)
If the recordings you have are of no importance reformat.0 -
Thanks everyone for the replies, I will certainly try out the re set function, and register with the forums. Hopefully I will not have to format the disc, but I guess at some point it will be inevitable.0
