Boiler installation paperwork

Should I be given any paperwork when a new boiler/heating system is installed? I'm thinking along the lines of a certificate that states the boiler was installed by a gas safe engineer. The sort of paperwork that serves no real purpose other than to be passed on to buyers when the house is sold.

Does anyone know?

Yep after about 3 weeks you should get a certificate in the post from Gassafe saying it's official. It also should be showing on your local councils planning portal as it needs to have been registered with them by the Gassafe people. (your engineer should have notified Gassafe of his installation who in turn register it with Building Control/planning dept at Council)
  • Is it possible to get one for an installation from 2007? If there was one it can't now be found. It doesn't show on the planning site but they don't list building regs on-line only planning apps.

Have you asked your installer? Was it done by a registered CORGI installer?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • It was done by British Gas. I called them and spoke to several different departments and had no joy. They said there is no piece of paper they give to show the work has been done to the correct standard/regs. Looked on the gas safe site and british gas doesn't show as an installer (or I couldn't find them).
