Redunancy - now stay at home mother.

Hi There

My wife took VR at the beginning of Jan with a sum large enough to clear the mortgage. She's going to stay at home for the time being looking after our 10 month and 5 year old girls.

What does she need to do in terms of NI etc? I believe she can get credits? Who does she contact to get this?

Also, are there any benefits for stay-at-home mothers?

Thanks

I think it is classed as Home responsiblity - try google - Do you qualify for Childrens tax credits , your redundancy payment will count for this years income ( excluding first 30,000) but from April onwards she will have no income so you may find award will increase.
