Id go for something like this:
    http://www.pasttimes.com/Compacts/Victorian-Dragonfly-Compact/invt/807223
a pretty compact with some blue to use on the day

a forget me not blue box with some special jewelerry inside that she can wear on the day

    £8
    http://www.pasttimes.com/Necklaces-and-Pendants/Glass-Crystal-Dragonfly-Pendant/invt/818820

and then if you have enough money left choose a cute photframe to go with the box on her dressing table and put in a photo of when you were little

there are tons of other boxes, compacts and necklaces but i thought these were cute :)

Aw.. thanks for all the lovely ideas everyone! I am really touched by some of the lovely comments you have made too... thank you!

I ended up ordering some bangles and bracelets which have arrived today and I'm not very impressed with any of them so it's off into town this afternoon to look for something else.... I like the idea of a trinket box or compact and also the rose for the garden so will see what the shops have to offer!

Angel13 - for the hen night we kind of just played it by ear and people were generally happy to chat etc.. we had a few laughs on the wii too. Everyone had a really good night tho which I was chuffed about!

I have my mum staying with me tonight so we will do all the girly preparation things like nails, facials, etc later.

Thanks again everyone.... I really do love these forums!

    xx
  • Have a fab day tomorrow, I'm sure that both your Mum and Dad are proud of you xxx

Thank you Pitlanepiglet! I should be in bed now..........waited for OH to go to bed so I could wrap his valentines presents and then came to write mums card and haven't a clue what to write on it!

Been googling for some ideas and have come back on here to look for some inspiration! xxx

EDIT: P.S. I ended up getting her a beautiful compact mirror from H.Samuel and a bracelet... thank you all of you yet again for all your ideas......I bought her a jewellery box a couple of years ago - this would have been a good idea otherwise. I still like the idea of the rose but just didn't get the chance to go to a garden centre after going into town today.; my two youngest were playing up big time! I think I will get her one for when she comes back from her few days away after the wedding! x

hope she has a fantastic day and you do too! can't wait to hear all about it. also glad the hen night went well. my dad remarried a few years ago but I didn't know new partner at the time so we were just invited to an evening party two days later and i couldnt go as in a different part of the country and i was waiting for surgery :( i used thorntons where you can choose different chocolates per layer and sent that as a special present to both of them as had no idea what else to do. would have loved to have been involved properly though.
  • Bump! Well???? How was it?

    lol!

Sorry, I was like a zombie yesterday and didn't make it very far from the settee and the tv!! :o

It was a really good day tho thanks...

Mum looked really lovely. My 2 daughters (11 and 18months) looked lovely too as her bridesmaids and my son (3 years) and nephew (also 3) both looked adorable as page boys!

She really loved the mirror compact and bracelet I bought for her - I gave them to her as she was getting ready on Saturday morning.

Her OH got a little emotional while saying his vows.. it was really sweet! We just managed to get a few photos outside in the gardens and get into our cars as it started to rain!

Then it was off to the venue.... at a local hotel where we had some lovely food, drinks and a disco etc. Mum had a room there so stayed the night and then went off to York for a few days yesterday.

Thank you to all of you again for the ideas and lovely comments I received! :A
