Gift for mum on her wedding day?

Hi
I am sorry if this is a duplicate thread but I searched and trawled through lots of pages and nothing answered my question!
My mum is getting married on saturday... I held a little hen night type thing for her last weekend which went down very well (many thanks to some of you who helped me with a previous thread on here! xx)
We lost my dad 11 years ago very suddenly and it's great that she is moving on...She is coming to stay with me on Friday evening and will be leaving from my house on Saturday..It's all quite low key and my brother is taking her to the registry office etc... I will do her nails and give her a pedicure etc and we will have a chill out evening on Friday..
But I do feel I should give her something personal from me as a gift on the day... I don't think she is doing the "something old, borrowed, blue and new thing"
Any ideas? I did think of a bracelet or something but I am not sure if she is wearing white gold or yellow gold... and anything around the £50 mark looks really flimsy!
thanks in advance

Would it need to be something for the day? Confetti do personalised jewellery/keepsake boxes and photo frames.
I was thinking of them as presents for OHs mum as she has jewellery already and we can still personalise it from us0 -
that's great thanks..sorry tho do you have a link?
we have bought them a joint gift already ..I just kind of wanted to give her a personal gift...from me .. xx0 -
Aww bless, I can't add much in the way of suggestions but I think that what you're doing for your Mum is lovely and I suspect that her having you around her is enough of a gift anyway.
It must have been tough for all of you and it's lovely for her that are happy and supportive of her moving on with her life.
Practicals - bottle of champagne? Nice card with words about her happy you are for her. I'm leaning towards saying how pleased your Dad would be that she is happy but I wonder if that is appropriate but your Dad and you are part of who she is now and in my view best talked about rather than being "an elephant in the room".
Good luck to all of you and well done for being a fab daughter xPiglet

I agree with the suggestion of a jewellery box - you can find some really nice ones about.
Or if not that, then maybe a voucher for you and your mum to do a day spa or something after the wedding? Give you both some chance to relax?
What a lovely idea though.
Ohhhh - does she like gardening?? There are lots of roses with special names - I'm sure there will be one called "special mum" or something??Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! What about something like this http://www.hsamuel.co.uk/webstore/detail/R/5138965/ they are classic so will look really nice with any outfit.
Don't forget to buy a paper on Saturday morning and when it's their first year anniversary you can give it to her

Aww... thank you for the lovely comments and suggestions everyone...:A
I now have some great ideas from you all....will let you know what I end up doing! xx0 -
Your favourite photo of you and your mum, from when you was younger.
In a nice silver photo frame with mum on it.
have a nice day0 -
What about a Pandora bracelet? Not only would it be a present for the day but you could add to it on birthdays, anniversaries or special occasions?
From what you have written your love for your Mum is abundantly clear and that is surely the best gift of all......0 -
Hi,
It's not really a gift for the day but this is what I got my Dad as a gift from me on my wedding day. We lost my mother a few years previously and I wanted to give him something to make him realise how much I appreciated him being there for me as both Mum and Dad over the last few years.
I got loads of our old photographs from my childhood and made them into a photobook going from baby photos to my most recent graduation photos (used an online company, Photobox or something similar, can't think off the top of my head) with funny or soppy captions under each photo. On the big back page I put a photograph of our whole family together.
It reduced him to tears but he thought it was such a lovely present and he can look at it again and again.0 -
Sorry, my internet wouldn't work the other night http://www.cr8agift.co.uk/engraved-butterfly-jewellery-box-11734-0.html
That is something like I was suggesting, that website also has jewellery type boxes too, I've not used it before it was just something I'd seen and will consider for gifts. If it is under budget you could perhaps get something else to go inside, maybe like the bracelet or earrings?0
