Not so long ago I went from self-employed to employed status. As a freelance I had BUPA cover for self and family, paid for monthly.
My new employer offers similar BUPA cover and when I rang up to request a welcome pack, the representative was able to find my existing contract from my postcode, cancel it and arrange a refund cheque for unused portion of the month's cover (about 60 quid) to be sent to my home all without me even asking ...
How it should be done .. but rarely is.
