There is a life after DFW

Every so often someone on here posts asking what people will do when they become debt free - people like Ms London are a big inspiration because she's saved for her goal of going to Australia.
We've only been completely debt free since April (tho' the bulk of our debt was finished in January. T hope no-one thinks I'm gloating
but I thought you might be interested in what we have managed to achieve in that time:
1. Had a family holiday in Rome me, OH, DD & BF and DS and GF. Spent a wonderful week there in an apartment all on MSE principles. It was Cultural week so all the ancient monuments, Collosseum etc were free entry (apart from the Vatican boo hiss).
2. Had 5 days as a couple in the Ring of Kerry (again cheap deals but great holiday).
3. Replaced hot water tank (has needed doing for 2 years).
4. Saved enough to replace fascias and guttering on house.
5. Still got a bit of a savings cushion as well.
All this and we are still debt free - have got a cash back CC and pay it back in full each month and the freedom of not worrying about money is great.
