Homemade shampoo - easy and mild...

I have long hair so used to use a lot of shampoo and conditioner. I now use much less shampoo and rinse very well. I rub a tiny amount of olive oil into the ends of my hair and it leaves it lovely and soft and shiny. I then use my fingers to de-tangle my hair before brushing it. I don't rinse this out because I just use a small amount, and the olive oil smell goes away quickly.:j0

My grandma used to smooth a small amount of olive oil over her hair, and leave it on overnight, and rinse it out in the morning. It did wonders with her frizziness (it's heretary, unfortunately) but I can't stand the smell of olives, otherwise I'd try it for myself.0

Hi Teria,
I did the same on Friday night but with hemp oil, and my hair is gorgeous. Not sure if you would prefer the smell to olives but I loved it, it smells really cucumber-y and fresh!DFW Nerd 1050 (09/08 overdraft £1200)

Try some coconut oil, its 99p from superdrug, http://www.superdrug.com/invt/460444&bklist=
Looks like lard in the tin but melts at body temp, used for years (litterally hundreds) for taming frzzy and hydrating frazzled locks in the carribean and india.0 -
Thanks, I'm definitely going to try the coconut oil.
Kellitots - where can I get hold of the hemp oil?0 -
Teria, I got mine from morrisons, about a fiver, you could probably get it cheaper online though. The coconut oil is probably a lot cheaper for hair use, but it's well worth taking 2-3 tablespoons of hemp oil a day or having it on a salad etc because it is sooo good for you. I just used it on my hair cause I had nothing else but it worked! Anyway look up the health benefits of hemp oil, you'll see what I mean
Hope you find something to oil your hair up with! It really does make it beautiful. xxDFW Nerd 1050 (09/08 overdraft £1200)

uksoaping also has links to suppliers. It works out much cheaper to buy things like bicarb in bulk.0
