Hiya,
Thanks for all the feedback folks
Sadly the discounts are not percentage discounts are not infallible, as it depends on the way Amazon reports them. But essentially the tool is a bit of fun; just try scanning through until you find the goodens.
Also, if you want to find out more about how these links work and build your own non-affiliated links, there's a full guide in the article. Read full instructions0 -
Hi guys,
Due to popular request, we're trying to come up with an option to filter out Amazon Marketplace sellers
If anyone could suggest any particular categories where they find the amount of marketplace sellers to be an issue, please let us know and we will experiment with those first. Thanks!:)0 -

Try the big selling categories first: books, DVDs, electronics, CDs.0 -
Great tool,so far found lots of fairly recent DVD's for 4.98,took seconds.Easy to use.
Check the prices on https://www.find-dvd.co.uk to see if they are the best price. If a DVD is not at least 75% off RRP (50% off RRP for a just released one), then you are overpaying!0 -
I certainly think it's essential to remove Marketplace items from the search. Otherwise an item that supposedly costs £10, but comes under Marketplace as 99p + £9 postage will still be shown in the results for 90% off.
I know this has already been said, but just giving an example. What is happening to the English Language? These are not isolated, but repeated every day.
'Definate', 'Aswell', 'Rediculous', 'Payed'...and the best of all 'Could Of'. How can anyone think that 'Could Of' can actually mean anything. You may as well write 'Could Zebra' for all the sense it makes.0 -
This is fab
One thing though: if I pick Video Games > Playstation 3 I get Wii games...0 -
Certainly found a bargain, whether it's a mis-price and will be honoured is another thing.

I have to agree with A.Jones: this tool is not good. First, it doesn't work: many items are not 90% reduced, even excluding the postage costs - some have no reduction at all. This may be Amazon's fault, but MSE is misleadingly promoting it nonetheless. Secondly, it encourages inflated RRPs - the engagement ring link in this week's email is just ridiculous: the rings were never worth the list prices.
Call me cynical, but I can't help noticing these are all "affiliated links" - i.e. MSE gets money from Amazon for every purchase. Normally, MSE provides a mix of affiliated and non-affiliated suppliers, but there is no such balance in this case. I'm unimpressed.
I second that - diamond rings selling for £14k when an equivalent diamond can be purchased online for £1.5k.... as with all "discounts", don't be sucked in by the "% off" sign!!!
In fact, whilst we're on the subject, get a diamond engagement ring made somewhere like Hatton Garden and pay 1/3 of the price of high street stores... it's a no-brainer.0
