İ have a 1987 built appartment with 2 bathrooms that both need an overall but i cant afford a complete strip---the tiles in both are both in reasonable condition but the i want to change the suits---i want one to loose it baths and just have a shower -and the other which has a short bath i am undecided about--it needs a change of unit regardless!--the tiles are blue and i am thinking to merge shades of blue-any good tips?

this home is abroad and it is not as simple as the uk-diy is not popular--mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

You will need more tiles, how are you going to match up tiles from 1987??Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Rather than doing 2 bathrooms badly/cheaply, do 1 bathroom well and leave the other till you have more cash. You might get away with different colour tiles above a border say, but to fill in where a bath has been taken out will just look like a cheap bodge job IMO.

İ heed what you have said--espeicially olias-and i think i am going to tile over tiles--i have taken advice on another thread.it would save a tremedous amount of mess and time consuming labour(and costly)-i can tile but not hack down 'glued' tiles-just need to get the right thickness to patch in with the 1987 tiles--and then cover it all up!--i will focus my funds into the main bathroom!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

Removing tiles is not difficult or time consuming, of course you can do it you only need a mallet and a bolster! It doesn't even matter if the plaster skim comes away providing you leave a roughly even and stable surface.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

its not lazyness its an underlying 'health' problem that restricts me-i was laid up for a week after trying to clear a tiled area just the size of a shower cubicle!!
-i was thinking it might be an idea to just clear the bath alcove and marry the tiles in this time!
i am guessing some tiles may be more bonded than others so will test first!-the aforementioned cubicle area ties were builders work back in 1969!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0
