Perhaps they started charging when they discovered the true nature of that 0207 number.

Could it be that at the time their call centre agent spoke to you, they had yet to discover it was a calling card number?

well no when i called and spoke to there operator i clearly explained that i was using a calling card to call an international number and asked if i had incoured any charges...i was told no charges have been incoured . i then specificly asked if there any hidden charges for using a calling card again i was told no...to me just seems like pure incomptence by the operator

Consider Vodafone when you are our of contract. They let you use your free minutes to use Call18866 via the London number. I use it all the time.

I'm with vodafone. No doubt others will have horror stories, but I've always found their customer service great (on the phone at least, not so hot in the shops)
