Hi all,
Anyone know anything about John Lewis Range cookers?
They do 2 different models on their site with their 'own label.'
Can't seem to find any reviews or info anywhere.
I wonder who makes them...
Thanks!

This is probably not very helpful but have you asked them?
We are looking into range cookers too and I am slightly disappointed in what is around. Went to look at them at a loccal Currys and they just didn't feel well made.
Just managed to persuade the boss that she doesn't need an Aga (or similar) but what to replace it with.
All the reviews are very mixed.0 -
There have been plenty of articles on here about such things so a search may be your friend
The consensus was the lower end manufacturers of Stoves / Rangemaster etc were all a master of style over substance and you were really paying for the "Aga look" rather than any quality manufacturing
Some John Lewis appliances used to be made by Bosch group but not sure that is so now. if it comes witha good warranty probably worth considering though as JL customer service is normally pretty spot on0 -
JL seem to have (re)introduced more own label white goods quite recently so could well be they've not been around for long. A few years back they'd virtually stopped OB. We've been looking at fridge/freezers over the last year and noticed JL have new OB models in this category as well. Always think you can't go wrong with JL stuff as their customer service is second to none, of the major retailers, plus you get an automatic 2 years warranty.0

Hello, After over a year of research I chose the JLRC902 and it seems to be the same (except the knobs are better ont he JL version) to the SMEG SUK92MFX5.
It was delivered by SMEG too in a big SMEG logoed lorry. This is an amazingly solid and powerful cooker. I've had it over a fortnight and love it.0 -
Yeah - I've been through all the reviews and MSE threads I can find and I agree the consensus is that the lower end Ranges seem to suggest style over substance.
I was also looking at the John Lewis JLRC902, being influenced by their great reputation.
Not sure now, hearing it's the Smeg model mentioned, as that one doesn't seem to have great reviews - notably from 'Which.'
Out of all the lower end models, Rangemaster seemed to stand out, but I really don't want to waste my money.
Maybe I should consider a decent standard sized oven - it's just a range would fit neatly under my chimney breast...
I'm also looking at a Maytag fridge from JL - which do seem to be highly rated.0
