What do you actually want from a laptop stand?
    • Cooling fans?
    • Back of laptop raised a certain amount?
    • Whole thing raised a certain amount?
The latter two you can quite easily improvise at minimal cost, otherwise pick an online computer retailer and put in "laptop stand" or similar into their search box. You may be amazed how much a sheet of aluminium and two USB-driven fans will cost you!

My mate recently bought one of these - simple, light, and looks cool on his desk!

Don't pay off your student loan quicker than you have to.
  • Some manufacturers (such as Dell) sell stands with built-in docking stations - this could be useful if you need to attach a large number of peripherals. However, they do tend to be quite expensive.

it is the latter two I'm interested in, I've seen them ranging from about £12 to £30. Two I've seen so far are which look ok this one and this one, both made by trust, that's the sort of one I'm looking into.
