Phone Bill in my name?

Hi, i get charged for my Talk Talk Broadband and phone line in my name and not business name, and pay for it from personal account. I shouldn't technically use Talk Talk for business, but it works out cheaper than business Broadband deals. This line is a second line and not used for many calls, about £1.50 a month. The line is at a business address and not at home. Can i claim the VAT back on the line rental and Broadband service? VAT is shown separately, but there is no VAT number on the invoice.
Cheers

There will be a vat number on the invoice if they are vat registered - if vat is itemised on the invoice then they are vat registered - either ring them up and ask for it or look in the small print on the invoice because it has to be there.
Not sure about claiming vat for a personal line even though you use it for business to be honest with you..what does your accountant say?Semper in faeces profundum variat

Are you a sole trader or limited company?
To be able to claim the VAT then you have to have a valid VAT invoice and this has to be in the name of the VAT registered person. If you are a sole trader then you should be fine however if you are a Ltd Company then you couldn't reclaim the VAT unless the invoice was addressed to the company.0 -

It's run as a partnership, with my wife. So should be OK. I'll put it through, and if the HMRC want to complain about it, i'll just have to pay them back....anyway they require me to pay and submit my VAT returns online from April, so they can't refuse me an internet connection.0
