noisy floor

In my new home the room above my downstairs bedroom has wood floor but whenever anyone walks on it, it sounds like a herd of elephants from below! Very annoying when you want to go to the loo in the night. Any ideas apart from ripping it all out and laying a carpet? Thanks for any suggestions.

either remove the floor and install accoustic insulation between the joist.
or remove the ceiling below and do it from underneath.Get some gorm.0
