Heating banging noise help!

I have recently had a baxi combi boiler fitted, used to have a baxi back boiler. I have noticed that on occasions, probaly about 4 -5 times per week, there is a loud banging noise. Does anybody know if this is OK? The boiler was fitted about 3 weeks ago.
If I could describe the sound it would be like when i was a kid and would kick a ball in the house and it hit the radiator. This also happened on very rare occassions as ball games were banned in doors!!!!:money:

No it isn't OK and could be a number of things undiagnosable remotely really. Pick up the 'phone and invite the installer back pronto.

It could be an airlock. Have you tried bleeding the radiators?[strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0

This just happened to someone I know she said it sounded like an empty rubbish bin being kicked every now and then, it turned out to be the pump on the blink... and it had to be replaced... I'd get someone in to check, as you don't want it going completely on a weekend or something..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

With a combi its very difficult to get an airlock in the heating side even if you try very, very, very hard. The OP needs a telephone right now not a rad key and yes tanith is right. The installer needs to be back in the next day or so.It could be an airlock. Have you tried bleeding the radiators?

Thank you very much for all the replies. I will give him a bell to come and look at it ASAP then. I have bled the radiators and they seem fine. It happens every so often and last seconds but is loud.0

Any chance it could be described as a pneumatic drill sound?
If so it could be that he has fitted 'one way trv's and got the flow wrong on a radiator.
Where does the sound appear to come from?
If one rad, then when it starts open up the trv and see if it stops.
Other than that, banging noises are usually a lack of flow and over heating.0 -
Ive got noisy boiler too!
Started last night, loud clunking sounds like the pipes are being hit with a hammer or the cylinder is being crushed! Particularly noisy at the boiler. It was mentioned above that it might be the pump. Ive had a look at the tank and pump, switched it from low flow to high, and back to low. It sounds like its working. Radiators have been bled. Occasional loud gurgle at the tank end like loads of air rumbling through.
Any ideas?
Many thanks.0 -

the sound more like the radiators being banged, it only happens a couple of times a week. Some of the bangs are really loud. It is hard to hear where the sound is coming from but at a guess it is in the pipes.
Thanks again for the responses.0 -
Corrosion in the system can also cause bangs and thumps like this."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
