Weird: Barclaycard receiving payment before I sent it?

Just been looking back over some Barclaycard statements. I always pay via their website using my Nationwide debit card.

I've noticed that the payment is usually credited same day, but SOMETIMES, it appears on the statement earlier. Not enough payments to be sure of the pattern, but it seems to be when I make payment outside normal banking hours.

eg a payment via their website made on 26DEC was credited 24DEC.

All the payments I made on Saturdays were credited on the previous Friday.

Has anyone else noticed this? It might be useful for people who have missed their deadline - if indeed the date shown on the statement is the date they use for that purpose.
