    According to the link
They are not allowed to reject you based on the National Hunter ref flag alone.

Oh yes they are and they have. What I want to know is who regulates this organisation so that I can escalate the matter.

If they have, isn't your issue with your bank since they're not allowed to use only this information.

I dont want to go into too much detail and I thank you for your help. I can tell categorically that my major high street bank have taken information that is totally innacurate from National Hunters Limited and have literally wrecked my life.

I have all of the facts but I want to ensure that I follow the complaints procedure before court action. To do this I need to know under what regulatory body are they answerable too. These people are not above the law and should not be getting away with this.
  • Despite having excellant credit scores from experien and equifax, Barclays Bank wont let me open up a bank account. I cannot get credit anywhere. I recently applied for a mortgage using a financial advisor and he made a mistake on the application form, the building society refused the mortgage as a result of the error. I have banked with Barclays for 30 years as a premier customer and only needed to open a new account because I was married recently. I have been told that there is nothing I can do as there has been a marker placed on my file? by the Building Society and that I am on a hunters list. Can someone tell me what this is and what can I do about it?

The Information Commissioners Office looks after data protection issues, which this is if the information that is within the National Hunter system (which is part of Experian I believe) is incorrect.

You will need to obtain the data they hold with a SAR and then dispute that data. If you cannot get any joy with this then you would escalate it, ultimately to the ICO. Why not seek legal advice straight away if it's as serious as it sounds?
    Happily an ex mortgage broker!
