Tuesday 9th Feb - What small DFW things have you done today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:D
Morning everyone....hope all well today:D;)
Mogchops - hope you and DD feeling better.
Irishmist - big congrats on the new job:beer:
Triangle - I'm having the 'can't sleep cos of essay planning' now....I lie in bed thinking it all thro in my head...arghhhh. Must do some today so I can relax later....with Holby city of course:rotfl:
Ok, nice quiet day for me....all I have to do is nip to the PO when lady buys the ebay item she wants posting today. So, I must do some work - I did a fair bit of reading yesterday (but on a different topic:o)...time for the essay planning to begin:eek:
List for today:
Have a fab day:beer:

Hi everyone and thank you so much for all the lovely congratulations posts and messages on my new job - still can't believe it! Just need to really enjoy the rest of my mat leave before I go back to work - will miss being at home so much, but very lucky tyo do a job I love.
What a lovely site and thread this is - so encouraging and people who don't know you being interested in your ups and downs
Today I have/will:
-check banking and update spending diary - have been a bit rubbish at doing this the last few days
-if LO sleeps today i will attempt to review banking/budget and work out how much we need to have in joint account each month to pay for bills and known expenses - think this is why we have come unstuck so many times -we have underestimated how much car repairs, buying wood once a year etc is and then end up with not enough money....
-plan meals for this week
-make some biscuits for friends coming round tomorrow
Have lovely days everyone

shame faced (and def not recommended) moneysaving thing happened to me yesterday. My quaterly payment for tv licence bounced at end of September and I (yet again) didnt get around to sorting it out and I got the visit last night from the two tv licence men. I reset up my payment schedule there and then and they started my licence up as of yesterday with a clean slate saving me the cost from September to Feb so essentially 5 months free however, I may get reported to the fiscal and have a fine so at the moment, saved money but the penalty will be higher....what a numpty!! Glad its sorted though, another thing off the tick list!!
What else, got my essay finished last night and sent it away this morning, am actually quite pleased with it. no idea if I actually finished with answering the question completely but I dont really care.
Other than that, taking dd to a free cinema screening tonight and her and friend getting bus home so that will save me a bit of petrol.
Will do piggy, quidco and check for other freebies....other than that nothing else.
