Clothing Damage

I bought some bleach from Willkinsons store alongside several other items. Upon returning home and unpacking the bag I discovered that the bleach had leaked all over the bag.
We managed to salvage most of the other items and will be taking the bleach back to exchange for another bottle.
However, in the process a pair of trousers have been stained by the bleach and are now unwearable. Is this something that Wilkinsons should compensate us for? If so, how would I go about this? Do I just go into our nearest store and show damaged trousers or would i contact elsewhere?

They aren't legally obliged to, but may do so out of goodwill. Try the store, but don't get frustrated if they can't or won't do anything - they might not be able to give compensation on a store level. Try their customer services/head office if you don't get anywhere, but remember, they are not legally obliged to cover what is 'consequential loss'.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
If Wilkinson's don't cough up, try the bleach manufacturer. Sounds like the machine didn't put the cap on properly.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Try phoning Wilkinson's customer service first before going into the store, they should be able to sort you out and phone the store for you so they are expecting you.
If your lucky they'll give you some vouchers to for Wilko.0 -
