I always fit a system boiler.

The system will last longer being sealed and not open to the atmosphere.

Some proclaim that the extra pressure can find weak spots in your pipe work, but in reality the chemical flushing needed when fitting a new boiler is more likely to find and cause leaks.

A regular boiler will be a straight swop for your present one but open vented (as said above) A system boiler has the pump and pressure vessel built in so no header tank needed.
  • thanks guys

so would a system be better for my needs looking to lower my gas bills

would of gone for a combi but a power shower stopped that

I think the days of combi popularity are coming to an end. HE system boilers with modern storage vessels are the way ahead.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Have you done the 15 year old boiler is costing me £x too much per month calculation?

Followed by the new boiler is going to cost me £y as a single payment. Thats £z per month amortised over a ten year period (or whatever payback period you are looking at).

    Is "x" greater than "z"?

    Yes? OK, tick, carry on.

    No? Don't understand the logic.

    Cheers
