I think DFS and Homebase use the same pricing model for furniture.
To get round the 30 day(?) rule that they have had to charge the previous price for, they have the item for however long, but in the storeroom, not out on the shop floor. If you were to ask one of the staff about the item, technically you could buy it at the "previous" price during that period, but of course no one can actually see it in the shop, so they don't.
Then, after the 30 days is up, they move it into the main store and stick a discount label on it.
Personally, the constant reductions sales / promotions / events at the likes of Homebase, DFS, SCC etc make me wary about the places. Why can't they just say that the price they charge is the real price and be done with it? Do they really think people are that gullible?0 -
Rather like Debenhams and the Tripp suitcases0

The reason they do this is to get people through the door, nearly all retailers do this form of marketing if they didnt then people wouldnt shop there,As for the Homebase website it is run by Argos so most things are the same.I think DFS and Homebase use the same pricing model for furniture.

The furniture you see in the Homebase store is usually only availble at Homebase and is good value for money but if you wait a few weeks just before they put the garden furniture on sale they will reduce it futher to make way for the garden event.Pure Dog Loving0 -
Just like the recent Sports Direct expose where the overseas child labour sweatshop are making garments for 0.0001p per hour then putting 70% on tags on before they even leave the factory0
