They make up a price , £199 seems a good one , sell it for a few days at very handful of stores , then sell it in all stores at the super bargain price of £99 in the sale , people fall for it.0

I don't doubt they do but to me it's comparable if not better quality than solid wood tables sold in dedicated 'posh' furniture shops.
The only price that matters to me is the price I paid and it was an absolute steal. Especially compared to more expensive argos firewood0 -
The £199 rrp is a true price given the quality of the furniture. Just look at the prices in dedicated furniture shops for a similar piece. This isn't the usual chipboard Argos firewood.[/QUOTE]
Argos and Homebase are owned by the same company, and stock exactly the same items.0 -
Yes I know but none of the stuff in the Homebase furniture sale is sold by Argos. If it was it would probably be £199 in Argos as they like to put silly prices on non laminated chip-board furniture
Homebase sell a lot of argos stuff online but instore seems to be different. These tables are Homebase branded items and don't appear in the Argos catalogue.0 -

In fairness though, it isn't just Homebase that do that, is it. I mean, has anyone ever paid the full price of a DFS sofa?0 -
this was £80 back in November, plus 15% off with the magazine voucher offer.
However, we've had it 3 months and it has scratched quite badly through normal use so glad we didn't pay any more than we did0 -
