Have'nt read that I just know of him from what happened in the strikes etc.
I'm not saying he's a good bloke just that it would be nice to have politicians willing to stand up for what they believe in and put their money where their mouth is.0 -
From Wikipedia (so no promises about accuracy/ reliability):
'In his 2003 autobiography, he admitted that between 1968 and 1972, prior to his involvement with trade union politics, he was a member of the National Front,[2] which he now bitterly regrets and which he puts down to being "politically naive and poorly educated".'
Nothing to do with harm it would do to the public perception of him and his career then? ( rolling eyes smiley )Vuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -
Its amazing isnt it , people still confuse what happens on tv with real life and are willing to vote for someone because of who he portrays as an actorVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0

Just a quick correction.
Fasism is usually assumed to be a product of the 'right' however in reality, fascists comes from all politcal views, all the way from left to right and an even liberal.0 -

They will vote for 'Jim Royle' because he is an anti establishment figure and not a manufactured pseudo politician like this woman.
The nub of this issue though is that New Lab (and prob the Tories too) are foisting non local and non apprropriate PPCs on constituencies who don't want them, and have absolutely no affinity with them.0
