iTunes/iPod problem

Hi,
I was hoping you lovely people might have some help for me. I have tried searching but can't find an answer for this.

I have been using iTunes/Ipods for about 6 years I think? I am on my second iPod (which is about 4 years old) and second computer, so I originally put everything in a music file from the ipod to transfer it onto my newer laptop (2 years old).

Recently my laptop was getting full, so I deleted some things including the music folder, not realising itunes was still retrieving the files from there. Now I have tried to get the music off the iPod by attaching it and saving it in a music folder (having deleted the old one) and then adding the folder to itunes, however when I do that nothing happens. I then realised it had the option to restore the old version from when I first got this computer, which I did, but the new version has about 10gb more stuff on it, and I can't get the new folder to import into itunes. No explanation or anything, it just doesn't do it. Any ideas?

If you need this info, my computer is a Toshiba laptop, it is running Windows Vista business.

Ok, I'm not sure I entirely understand what is going on here so my suggestion might sound dumb but I had an issue with iTunes and my iPhone when I didn't have the latest version of iTunes installed on the computer. Maybe that might help?

Triggerhappy, I have downloaded he iRip but it only allows me 100 songs and then I have to pay $19.95 (I assume USD)? Is there an....ahem....moneysaving option?

Chocolate80 I think I have the up to date version, I know it updated iTunes about a week ago but thanks.

Poppy10 I have had a quick look at your site too and it has a different program that I can try, so thanks for that.

I haven't got time right now to sit and sort all this out, but I will let you know how I get on. The weird thing is I have been able to do it that way before, and it let me restore the old version this time, just not the new one. Maybe it is Apple trying to make life difficult again .

Make hidden folders\files show using folder options,then look in ipod via my computer,remove all the folders with files named with 4 or 5 letters or\and numbers.This is your renamed music.Use a good tagging programme like foobar to rename all the songs from there mp3 tags.

can anyone tell me how to get bluetooth on itouch i have it on my iphone.

only 2nd &3gen ipod touch have bluetooth, it needs version 3 of the software as well. 1st gen touch doesnt have bluetooth.
however the bluetooth is not the same asyou get with nokia and so on and is only for use with bluetooth headphones. Other than that its usless. To turn it on it is in settings
