Help - Strange letter from HFC Bank!

Hi all,

First time poster - long time lurker - be gentle!

I recently wrote to HFC Bank requesting a copy of my loan agreement in order to reclaim PPI costs. The loan was taken out roughly 4 years ago and has since been paid in full. HFC's response:
The bank is not required to provide information under section 77 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, when a loan agreement has been paid in full. We confirm the above account closed on 9 June 2009

Is there any other way I can obtain this info? I'm not sure whether to try a SAR request, or go straight to FOS?

Any advice appreciated! :D

Hi There send off a SAR along with 10.00 send recorded delivery. Give them 40 days to reply then send the letter off from this website and list the reasons why you think that you have been mis sold. Again send recorded delivery and give them 8 weeks to reply. Good Luck
