Fiat Scudo engine Photo

Hi a couple of months ago we had an 04 scudo van combi broken into
we thought that they had just stolen some stuff from inside BUT this afternoon
we discovered that they have stolen the console above the dashboard & when we opened the bonnet it looks like something is missing but not being mechanically minded i have no idea what. it just looks like there is a gap where something should be on the l/h side could someone send me a photo of the engine or give me some idea what the low life has taken....

hi no the battery is on the r/h side checked that!

just had a quick look at ours
If it is low down could be the alternator,if higher up the fuel pump

any chance you can do me a picture with a camera.
our local fiat dealership where it was originally bought from is next to useless cannot even arrange a tow for 5 miles!!

sorry cant do pics till tomorrow as my brother is using the camera and on hols,

basically look down the LHS fairly low near the wheelarch and there should be the alternator with a black belt on it,if that is there then look at the front of the engine and there will be a plastic pipe going from the rad to the rocker cover,just to the left and about 5inches down will be an 'oblong' looking pice with small metal pipes and a throttle cable connected to it,if that is not there then its the fuel pump thats gone

the engine is there but it looks like something is missing & no it doesn't start thats why i want a picture so i can see if we are right!

does it turn over?
what dash lights are you getting?
does the CODE light go out?
