UK router to work in Europe?

Hello, I'm about to buy a router and wanted to go on a holiday in europe to my friends house. She has a wireless enabled pc there, but doesn't use the wireless facility as she doesn't have a laptop. Anyway, I was wondering whether my router would work over there if I took my laptop?

A standard router will, if you want to use it directly on an adsl/cable line (and not just as a wireless router) then just make sure they're compatible. If you're with cable over here, then most likely yes.0

Does she not have have a router then for her ISP , if so is it wireless and then you can link to her router from your lappy. If she has a wired link on her pc then you can share ISP using an adhoc connection from your lappy to her wireless pc.
