I got my best quote on GoCompare! And I found myself singing the song whilst I was putting in my details. How annoying!"A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on" - Winston Churchill0

I'm boycotting all the price comparison websites now, after living in my house for 10 years insurance companys no longer want to insure the build type ( brick and timber, 2 walls brick, 2 walls timber ) yet all the comparison site are listing quotes, when i ring the insurance companys up, they wont cover it.
Its wasting my time, not saving me money.0 -
DaveandMichelle, I know what you mean, there are companies out there that will insure "non standard risks" I may have a useful list for you if you want it at renewal (and yes, I have personally sold policies for timber properties lol) I don't work in the insurance field anymore I am a housewife...but I did keep useful lists of numbers in case anyone ever needed them0

Gocompare are rubbish. I recently took out a policy through themselves with RCIB for my car insurance. RCIB treated me really badly as the price they quoted was incorrect and after I paid for the policy they put the premium up by £450 for no reason. I reported them to the FSA and FOS and advised go compare that the prices they were quoting were incorrect and I was completley Ignored and they still advertise them.0

How disturbing! They give you a great price but the music on the advert was not to your liking...I would cancel now and take something out more expensive.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Gocompare are not RCIB, some of the questions asked on the generic Gocompare site will differ from RCIB's questions. What is rubbish is that the price differed - not Gocompare.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I used the GoCompare website for the first time in February to renew my car insurance. Actually, the site was quite good for information. The problem came when I tried to renew insurance online and kept getting messages telling me that I needed to contact the respective insurance companies directly...so I did.
One comapny (I think it was 'Budget') said that the price quoted was only a 'comparison price' and wanted a further £38 more than the price quoted on the GoCompare website. Another quote from the AA on the GoComapre website was reasonable - until I phoned them. They told me they didn't provide motor insurance cover at the price quoted...and the price they actually quoted was almost £50 more!
I left it for a day, phoned 'Budget' directly and got a cheaper price than originally quoted by them on my renewal.
As for the GoComapre advert.....pass the bucket!!0 -
I say Boycot them just for that blooming advert Ahhhhhh!!!!!0
