:p I work on Adult chat lines  from home and earn a fair bit. I can do this when the children are at school and nursery and in the evenings when they are in bed. Not to everyones taste I know but at around £9.90 per hours chat I find it a nice little earner with no over heads other than tax etc.

And don't have a go at me if you don't like the idea please. It's my choice:p

Just a thought but if all you want is to do your bit, then surely you are doing. Providing a comfortable, loving environment for the man you love. He is sure working hard but instead of wearing yourself out trying to add a few pence here and there maybe concentrating on the house and kids is the best way to support your OH.

You have said that your debt free date is not likely to change with your extra cash so be a bit kind to yourself.

Having said that, what about childminding? The childminders local to me seem to have a very good income.

Good one foreverskint, but how do you go about getting that sort of work?

I found my company on line. They are very professional and very legitimate, and look after their staff well. I can log on and off when I choose, am not tied to any hours or times of work and I don't get calls when it is not convienient for me.
But beware, there are some really bad ones out there!
I can give details if anyone is interested (pm me), but please beware, this is not a job for anyone who is easily offended.

Thanks so much for all your advice, its been fab.

Ok, Avon I have done before and found that some times I felt a bit ripped off by them, and also we already have a well established Avon Lady in my village. School dinner ladies are the wrong hours.I did think about ironing or cleaning but my OH is really against that. I have heard that there is a job waitressing when there are functions at a luxury spa and you can just work when you can, but its going to be mainly weekends when OH is away, but I still think I may apply because even though it is minimum wage you get a fully paid weekend away after a year, and get to join the spa for £10 a quarter.
I already sell on ebay and amazon, and I do make handcrafted cards but from what I have seen they don't seem to sell well on ebay. There are hundreds of them on there but most are quite old fashioned where mine are quite modern and contemparary ( sorry can't spell ).

Adult lines sound very convenient but I'm not sure if I am thick skinned enough, or if my husband will approve, also I don't think 0915-1115 will be a busy time for it.

Mystery shopping is a bit hit and miss, sometimes when you work out what you spend on petrol and parking your making nothing, but I'm going to stick with it for a little while to see if it gets any better.

Finally I have registered as a childminder before but I felt like the reason I am not working is to spend quality time with my boys and this is my last year until my youngest goes fulltime in school so I don;t want to have to share him with anyone.

I hope it doesn't sound like I am dissing all your ideas, because I do really appreciate your ideas, and anymore would be great.

    Thanks to you all

I agree, good for you foreverskint!

When my son was 18 months old I started Ebay selling. I found a gap in the market for a certain product and sucessfully started selling on there. Soon others cottoned on to the idea and so I switched products and found another gap in the market. My products are all new and so in order to buy my stock I had to initially start with spending a bit of money to get it going but it is so easy to fit around children whether they are in school or nursery or not in fact they can be a great help at times.

I know you say you already sell on Ebay but it can be very easy to make a profit on there even when listing costs and tax are taken into account it is just about finding the right products to sell and selling them at reasonable prices. I had children when I was fairly young and have never been a career woman but it has given me the confidence and the experience to try and create a larger version of the business in a couple of years time when both the children are at school full time.

Sorry if I have waffled on

Foreverskint, sounds like you have found the perfect job for you, wish I could also do it, its not that I'm easily offended I just don't have a very good imagination.

I was going to ask if you had considered fostering, but your concerns regarding childminding would be of even greater significance.

Must rush, got to call Foreverskint :-)

What about dog walking - for people who are at work all day and need their pets walking? Potential to this when you have a child with you (take them with you) or not. Are you any good at book keeping - this may be worth looking at as you could do this at yr convenience. How about Virgin Vie - Ann Summers etc? are their any local businesses around - if you could have a food hygiene certificate you could look into supplying sandwiches for lunches etc....
