Timberframe Kit - Build On Green Belt

Hi all,
I'm looking to build a Timberframe kit build house. But unfortuantly where I live msot of the land is under Green belt law. (in the slough area)
I was thinking on building a 4 bedroom house with having a very small stables to go with it as the land I'm intrested in purchasing has a field with it.
Most of the build is enviromentally friendly and as the house prices are so high this is the only option to be able to live in my dream home.
Could anyone please give me some advice on the best way to get planning permission on green belt land if possible? or if anyone know of any alternative which I could do to achive planning permission.
Thanks in advance everyone!
Steve

Not much chance, I'm afraid."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

And what would be the chance if the land isn't in the green belt?
Any who could provide me with some advise for alternatives would be great:)
Thanks

Within the greenbelt the clue is in the name - basically no construction except in very rare circumstances. Elsewhere it would be a question of fitting in with planning guidelines.
I would pop into the relevant planning office, explain that you are thinking about self build, and see what help they can provide. Getting hold of a copy of the Local Plan (a formal document which details what sort of things they want to see in what areas - i.e. certain areas will be residential, others industrial) would probably be helpful as it might point out where you can develop.
You also need to be aware of any potential agricultural use restrictions in more rural areas (i.e. where development is only allowed for farm workers)
Also might be worth looking at the various self build housing associations as I'm sure they have advice forums/leaflets etc.Adventure before Dementia!0 -
a bit of land with horses, stabling and green grass, doesnt mean that you can build a house/home on it. wooden or not.
the two things are very different.Get some gorm.0 -
Surely the whole point of the green belt is to stop you building on it. Or do you think that the law should not apply to you.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
