Digital Camera Help - What to buy?

Hello

I need to replace my digital camera as the screen has cracked on my existing one. With so much choice out there I have no idea what to go for.
My previous camera was a Samsung and we got on fairly well although it did take quite a while to take a picture when using the anti-shake mode.
I definately want one that is rechargeable and has anti shake/blur. I have an SD card so would be looking for one that has this type of memory.
I would also like something that is fairly robust but not bulky!

Pricewise i'm probably looking at around £70. I don't want to spend much as my previous one only lasted a year (not sure how I managed to crack the screen).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Many thanks

Gemma

A good place to look is on Amazon as you can see the their best selling cameras and then compare those in your price range by the feedback given. I helped a friend to choose one and he ordered a Samsung for around £63.
There are of course other sites/suppliers who provide similar products and info but Amazon is normally my first port of call.

If you're already familiar with Samsung then try this Samsung ES-17 from Amazon - £59.99 (reduced from £89.99)

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-ES17-Digital-Camera-Optical/dp/B002JM1GZ0/

Has good reviews, takes SD cards, and has anti-shake and facial recognition. It's a fairly new model too, so should be faster than your old camera.

  • oops 2 posts and i am recommending panasonic again

i have a panasonic fx3 (old model now) I bought it after asking on another forum as to which was the best...they explained that the pannys have good lenses (leicas) and I have not had any problem at all, i am hoping to get the top of the range tz7 as i am really impressed with it..but have been advised to wait until march as panasonic have a new model coming out and the old ones may be a lot cheaper...

i must add i aint much of a photographer, just wanted a point and click, but it seems to do the job with that..my life is too busy for too many options lol
but i have got some great pictures from my sub £100 camera

I think far too many people are seduced by the number of pixels. A 12MP must be twice as good as a 6MP etc.

I have an old(expensive) Cannon with just 1.3MP and it takes brilliant photos, which can be enlarged a fair amount.

Agreed it is no good for showing the early morning dew on a rose taken from a hundred yards away!! but for snapshots it is fine.
