Games Basement

Hi all, i ordered a wii fit for my partner on the 9th december 2009 as a christmas present. It said on the website that it was 'in stock' and would be delivered within 2-4 working days. I recieved an email to confirm this.

With christmas approaching and my item not recieved i desperately tried to contact them by phone and email, but could not get through and got no reply. I continued this over christmas and new year.

I finally got through by phone on the 5th january and was told it would be 2 weeks before the item would be with me, i refused to accept this and asked for a refund, which they said would be processed within 2 days. Guess what, this didnt happen! I rang again on 12th january to ask about it, to be told there had been a mistake and they would re-process it. Once again this didnt happen so i rang again.

On 22nd january i recieved an email from them confirming that my refund had been processed, this again has not happened. Games basement are now claiming the money has left their account, but i have not recieved it. What do i do?

How did you pay for it? If it was by credit card or visa debit, then I'd contact your card issuer and ask for a chargeback.

  • hi credittart, ive been through a similar situation with gamesbasement who promised me a refund on 22 dec, which didnt materialise. i contacted my credit card company who told me to print off email's received from gamesbasement with a covering letter. i posted this on wed last week. ive phoned my credit card company today who inform me that they have refunded my account :T and they are going to get the money back off gamesbasement . my advice is stop wasting your time speaking to gamesbasement they will always come up with excuses ( they blaimed the snow in one conversation ) and phone your bank. they will get your cash for you.
