21st July 2010 - Missed a call from this company today, which led me to this site. Don't normally worry about this sort of thing, but I registered with a new doctor at Cowes Medical Centre on Monday and today, Wednesday, I had a call from this company! Don't go to the doctor very often and until Monday they didn't have my mobile number.. perhaps the new NHS computer system is compromised??? Anyone else had new contact? This was originally from 2006.. has it started again?0

I highly doubt their computer system has been compromised; it's more likely that they've sold your information on.DailyMail wrote:In addition, NHS chiefs also plan to legally sell information to private firms, including details of diagnoses, operations and medicines.
Some of this information will not be anonymous, and patients will not be informed if it is being used in this way.0 -
got a silent call from this mob last week.
So annoyed!
How do they get numbers?:mad:0 -
I've come across quite a few cases like that - all involving medical topics.peter_the_piper wrote: »I went for a hearing test to my local hospital and within a week had had a call from someone touting digital hearing aids. I don't believe in coincidences.

Thanks for reminding me I'd forgotten that it was 5 years ago.:rotfl:WhiteHorse wrote: »I've come across quite a few cases like that - all involving medical topics.

I have just come across this (somewhat ageing lol) page from Google after also having missed a call from the subject number whilst i was asleep (working nights). It looks like its a range of companies that use it so i dont know what the call was about but I had a motorcycle accident a few months ago so i suspect it was indeed ambulance chasers. The concerning thing is that the only parties aware of the accident were the Police and the local Hospital where i went on the advice of the Police for a check up.
Very worrying if the hospital are giving out details. If they call back i will def be following it up.0
