Insurance for Learner Driver
Comments
-
A 17 year old learner driver is not going to cheap to insure- what do you consider to be a 'reasonable fee' ?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I have just been quoted £3200
That is ridiculous ,
I only have girls , much cheaper. For £3000 , they could have their own insurance AND a car!
Go to the comparison web sites and use them .
My daughter , Fiesta, just under a thousand with direct line, would expect a boy to be about £15000 -
I paid about £1500 for my daughter a couple of years ago and thought it would be roughly the same for my son. My car is an A class merc 1.6 and not worth that much because it is 8 yrs old.0

there are companies who will insure learner drivers whilst they learn for a fixed sum - £300'ish I think - for 6 months on a car not owned by them and only driven with qualified driver. the insurance only lasts while the learner is learning, but it does mean you don't have to adjust your own policy to include the learner until they have passed, if you see what i mean. I can't remember how I came across this but I think it was on moneysupermarket - it might be worth looking?***************************************

This comes up several times a day on the insurance forum. A simple search would save people the bother of replying to questions that are asked several times a day.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
