M&S clearance furniture

Ok here goes...
I ordered a Barletta loveseat in the clearance just after Christmas (~29/12) for £449.
Got a call about 3 weeks later arranging delivery for 22/02/10.
Had a message on answerphone plus email Fri 05/02 asking me to call them about my order.
Called them on Sat (06/02) & they said the fabric I had selected was no longer available so could I go online pick another & call them back.
Called this morning with my selection to be told the new price £949!
Apparently they cannot fulfil my original order because the clearance fabric is all gone. There is nothing I can do but write a letter of complaint to 'head office'.
Has anyone else had the same treatment? Or has anyone actually received their clearance item. I'm starting to think they could have said this to all their customers & there never really was a 'clearance' sale!:(

Of course they had the sale items, but sale items go quickly. You aren't the only one to put in an order!0

The point I'm trying to make is they took the order & arranged delivery of it when it never existed. Once items are sold then I expect them to be listed as 'out-of-stock'.0

That is pretty poor service. Did you get an appology?
