Green Rate Telecom

Have had few phone calls recently - latest this morning from Green Rate Telecom who say they can half calls / charges etc.

Also if we need engineer etc it will be an BT Open reach engineer that will come out.

Never heard of them - any information would be brilliant. Would this affect speed of broadband too etc??

Many thanks

    Ever heard of Google?

If you are happy with a five year minimum term contract and a cancellation fee of £395+VAT. then fine, go ahead. I assume this is a business line?
This is just another BT reseller with the usual dubious T&C's.
And if you need work doing on your line with any telecoms company it will still be an OpenReach engineer doing it.

  • Yes - I HAVE heard of Google and DID google BEFORE posting thank you very much! I thought the forums here were for helping not sarcasm! No need to be rude!

I googled and ONLY got their website up - I then googled plus customer reviews.

I'm not being rude, I'm simply pointing out that the info is easily available on their website. Look under the 'legals' and you will find the minimum term and cancellation fees.
I rather doubt that the salesman mentioned to you the small matter of a five year contract...

  • I was googling for independant customer reviews on this service and maybe should have made myself clearer in my first post.

They are hardly likely to put negative reviews in their own website.

If I can summarise to save you time, DON'T DO IT.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
