Seat 1.4 (03 plate) exhaust problem

I bought a Seat Leon 1.4v 03 plate last year, late August. Since last August i've already had a leak in the car, which we believe now has been fixed, just need to keep getting vax on it to get moisture out of carpet!!

I was driving my car yesterday and after i'd stopped at a junction, when i pulled off i heard a noise that i didn't like. I could hear a loud blowing noise from the car. Fortunately my brother-in-law is qualified in some aspects of car maintenance so he had a look under my car.

Now i don't really have a huge amount of knowledge of cars so i'm just going by what my brother-in-law said...

The connection under the care into the back box has come apart and is rattling/sounding off under the car making the exhaust sound like its blowing. He reckons it'll be alright for another couple of weeks or so but has said that it obviously needs fixing.

My question is - has anyone any ideas how much this could cost to fix? I may pop it over to our usual car mechanic and get him to do a price on it before i actually have the work done but just wondered if anyone had any ideas.

this would be one occasion where it is reasonable enough to use a fast fit centre, take it to one for a quote and see exactly what needs doing,then call a few others asking for the same work to be done and compare prices.

if its just the back box then it shouldn't be too expensive.
